Draft West Allis Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan
Through a coordinated effort with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, the City is taking steps toward not only the implementation of the Cross Town Connector Trail, but has completed a Draft version of a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for West Allis. The plan will serve as a long-range guide with the purpose to identify and prioritize pedestrian/bike facility project needs for best practices in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining those facilities for complete streets. Throughout 2008, public participation meetings were conducted, surveys distributed and feedback obtained in preparation of the draft document. A draft copy of the plan is linked for your information, review and comment.

Plan Commission submittal deadline is changing
Please take note that the City of West Allis's Plan Commission submittal deadline is changing, starting in February. We are bumping the submittal deadline up a week earlier, to the LAST FRIDAY of the month PRIOR to the Plan Commission meeting in which you are submitting for (it used to be the first Friday of the month). For example, this new deadline will first take effect for the March 26th Plan Commission meeting, so the deadline is NO LONGER March 7th--it is now February 29th at 5:00 pm. Please pass this new deadline information along to everyone in your office who may be affected. The Plan Commission meetings will still remain to be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. We are changing the deadline date to allow staff more sufficient time to review all the plans we've received, and to allow more time for staff to work with the applicant on revised plans before the Plan Commission meeting so there aren't so many conditions of approval. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, feel free to contact Kristi Johnson at 414-302-8460. Thank you, and West Allis looks forward to working with you on future projects.
