Library |
Organized in 1984, the Friends of the West Allis Public Library is a non-profit group which supports and enriches the Library through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and Library advocacy. Many programs and services offered by the Library would not be possible without help from the Friends who generously offer their time and talents. Meetings are held four times a year, and feature a variety of entertaining programs and speakers. See the Library Calendar page for upcoming meeting dates. The Friends of the West Allis Public Library work to focus public attention on the library, stimulate the use of the library's resources and services, receive and encourage gifts and bequests to the library, accept tasks other than those assigned to staff, support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities and augment library services, supporting the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights. The Friends of the West Allis Public Library sponsor monthly Book Sales in the library's Constitution Room. The sales are held the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. For current Book Sale dates, see the Library Calendar page. Contact the Library for more information about become a Friend of the West Allis Public Library. |
