Library
The West Allis Public Library provides public access to the Internet and public PC workstations under the conditions of the Internet Use Policy, and the general Library Code of Conduct. A valid Milwaukee County Library card is required to use any of the Library's computer resources. Visitors or non-residents should see a Librarian.
Public Internet Access
West Allis Library currently has 17 public use Internet computers in the Adult Reference Department. These computers also have Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Internet reservations are made using SAM computer reservation software in the Adult Reference Department. Because of high demand, users are allowed one 90-minute session per day on a first come, first serve basis. Free wireless Internet access is also available throughout the library.
Microsoft Office PC's
The Library also has three computers with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint installed. Each computer is in a private room. Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made one day in advance with an Adult Reference Librarian.
Printing
The West Allis Public Library offers printing from all computers. The first 5 pages are free, all subsequent pages are 10 cents a page.
Public Computers in the Children's Deparment
The Children’s Department has six public computers for browsing the Internet. The computers have CyberPatrol installed, an Internet web filter, to control browsing on these computers. Because of high demand, patrons are allowed one 60-minute session per day.
The Children’s Department has two computers with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher installed. There is no Internet access at these computer stations.
