Property Awards: Patriotic Display | Commendable Properties | Best PorchThe City of West Allis Beautification Committee, in conjunction with the VFW Auxiliary to Post 1912 West Allis, is sponsoring the first annual Patriotic Display Award competition. This program has been created to increase awareness of patriotism and celebrate our allegiance to our wonderful Nation. Residents are encouraged to create patriotic theme displays, which may include flags, buntings, flowers, handcrafted or purchased items with relevance to Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day. Winners for each patriotic holiday will be recognized through the placement of a temporary “Award” yard sign and photos posted on the City’s web site. The winners will also receive a Mayoral Proclamation and a flag from the VFW Auxiliary to Post 1912 to be presented at the Independence Day Grandstand Program prior to the fireworks display at State Fair Park on Sunday, July 4. 2010 Patriotic Display Award Winners: Residential Properties
